I have been researching on alternative construction methods to put up my pig sty at shags and so far this seems ideal.

Swali, Simiti ngapi tatosha kuplaster nje? Pundits assure that the integrity of the building is guaranteed at least for 50 years which is all I need,. Lakini, Why do we all go for the very expensive methods of construction?

I think we have very lazy architects/QS/Building/Civil Engineers in Kenya. they have not to date thought outside the box to provide cheap housing solutions for the lower middle and lower class. With all the increase in the cost of living; innovation is required to cushion halaiki in terms constrcution.

Si heri hii buana na itakaa 50 years. Mawe za Ngunjiri will cost me 1M or so for the same 2B.

Cheap is expensive ,stick to ndarugo stones for a long term project na ujue mjengo huwa haiishi ,if you know you know .

Do more research and consult your architect. I have seen some houses on youtube called earthship. I like them but I think it needs the input of an engineer and an architect.

There are also houses made out of earth bags which are said to be cheap to construct. Alafu uweke celestory windows. Moto kama pasi ya makaa.

Quarry stones uko shags ni cheap sana …for 2 bdr house you will require 5-6 lorries .

Ground floor slab na roof is the same for this house and a masonry block house. Difference ni ukuta. Cost ya masonry walls is around 1000bob per square metre, hebu do your math and tell us if there is any significant savings you are doing. What type of foundation soil iko pale kwenu?
