I bid my farewells to the officers and my rescuer and walked to my car,it was already dark outside. I did not want to see the face of my real assailant. It was better that way. My keys were still in the ignition and I switched on the engine and sat there lost as the engine purred softly . I don’t know how long I sat there staring at nothing, thinking about what had just happened. The OCS had explained to me what had really happened and it turned out that my villain was indeed my hero. Meria…he told me his name when I was thanking him for saving me. I wanted to offer him a cash reward but something about his aura made me rethink that. He was the type who believed that chivalry was still alive and saving a damsel in distress gave him a certain high.Well then, I settled for a hug instead.Damn…it felt so good to be in his arms, his threadbare black tee shirt made it easier for me to feel every contour of his torso and I had to admit ,my knight was well put.
“I need to get laid.” I started to laugh and then an abrupt knock on my window startled me. It was Meria.
“Are you ok ma’am” He asked as I rolled down the window.
I looked at him.
“No Meria,I don’t even have the energy to drive again at the moment ,I might just lean back on my seat and sleep…at least I know it’s safe here.” I said as I Imagined going to my empty house.
“I could drive you home if you don’t mind” . He softly said.
Our eyes locked for a moment and without a word , I scooted over to the passenger’s seat.
“Give me a moment I make arrangements for my car.” He smiled and walked away.
In a few minutes he was back, got inside the car and made necessary adjustments to the driver’s seat and the mirrors to suit his frame.
“So…ummmm,” he said.
“Pseudonym”. I laughed.
“Pseu…”my name rolled superbly off his tongue. “Where are we going?”
“1018 vipingo drive.” I replied. He looked at me. “Trust me it’s not within the golf resort. We just got lucky.”
“I just wanted to say it’s not far from here” .He replied as he pulled off the parking lot. I laughed.
I directed him to my house and in a few minutes we were outside my gate. I got out to open it and he drove into my compound. I locked up and joined him by the car. He got out and leaned on the car. I opened the back seat door and removed my shopping bags.He came over to help me and I started to decline.
“Let me help you Pseu…I will also check around your compound before I leave.” He said.
“ Thanks…you don’t have to. I can take care of myself,” I hotly replied .
“Well you drive like a maniac, so I don’t doubt that. But I still insist.” He said calmly.
I gave up and handed him my shopping bags. Took out my house keys from my khaki shorts and opened the door. I switched on the lights and led him to the kitchen counter where he dumped the bags .We walked around the rooms checking out for intruders and finally we went outside and checked the compound. No intruders. I sighed with relief.
“You see?” I gloated as we stood by the car once more. “Safe and sound”.
Suddenly we had a loud bang and utter darkness fell on us as all the lights went off. In a micro second I had jumped on his arms in panic and he chuckled as he held me.
“Relax, that must be your transformer.”
I let out another sigh of relief and laughed a bit.It was just a blackout. He continued holding me captive. His hands rubbed my back sensually up and down and I snuggled closer. Gods…it felt good …I wrapped my hands around his neck as his hands went lower and cupped my butt, pulling me closer to him . I raised my head and he kissed me with urgency. The same urgency I felt …I was drowning in cataclysmic feelings .I knew this was going to be a disaster as he pulled back and took my hand and led me back inside.
I somehow managed to find some candles in my kitchen cabinet and lit up a few. The eerie light cast his shadow on the walls as he leaned there on the door frame. Silent as a predator. I nervously asked whether he wanted some whiskey .He declined. “suit yourself.” I thought as I grabbed a glass and poured a double for myself and gulped it down in seconds. Fire burnt my throat and I gasped. He laughed.
“Kuja hapa.” He said.
“ I…I think you should leave…” I stammered.
“Why? “ He calmly asked. And I pointed at a portrait on the wall. Jeremy wearing his naval whites and medals was an ominous sight in the flickering flames.
Meria turned around and walked out. I grabbed the car keys and hastily followed him.
“HEY!” I shouted at him. He turned and I threw the keys at him.
“Let me know where to pick it up tomorrow. My business card is on the dashboard”.
We both smiled and he got into the car and drove off.
