Wadau, my Nissan NP 200 is giving me sleepless nights.
I see it is a great vehicle in terms of fuel economy and value for money. However I have had to replace the transmission/thrust bearing twice. It still doesn’t behave normal. The whole process is quite gruelling.
Kuna mtu amewahi change transmission/gearbox? To probably auto? What does one need? Do I need to change plus the engine? Any garage that does a good job?
Are you using it for heavy tasks? Ni pickup, but haka ni kagari kadogo.
Unataka kujifanya mjanja kuliko wa Japanese then go ahead
Transmission issues are very common with Nissans.
Ilibidi ni dispose yangu after my mechanic became too friendly.
Tried all options hata kuchange motherboard wapi!
I can hardly say it’s a Japanese contraption. The Nissan NP200 is south African, Renault engine, Dacia suspension, some spares are interchangeable with Peugeot. Body na logo pekee ndio Nissan.
Stick to manual. Once you install automatic if at all it fits, you will need an appropriately tuned powertrain control module. You will also need small things like flex plate etc. Solution is to get an entire combo of an engine and it’s transmission and the pcm, with the harness.
Point exercise, just buy a reconditioned transmission and sell that Nissan chieth, buy a dmax and thank me later.
Stick with the manual but change your mechanic. Nissan manual transmissions are very reliable as long as you keep up with transmission oil changes.
Buy a new car omuga, what are you still changing, leave the changing for okuyu who are economists

Jatco transmission in the new Nissan cars are a nightmare. I would opt for manual tranny. Autos are not good.
