Change of particulars on passport. To be specific surname.

Can get confusing skip to the next post if you don’t have the energy… So years ago my old man made a mistake applying for mine and my siblings passport. For instance am named Ali Abdullahi Zakariya . Ali being my name, Abdullahi being my fathers name and Zakariya being my grandfather names(This is my surname) .My old man is named Abdullahi Zakariya Hassan following the same protocol. Hassan Would be his surname. It’s a very easy naming system as everybody has one name. Sasa the names on my passport appear as
Hassan (surname)… Same as my Dad
Other names :Ali Abdullahi Zakariya
when it should be
Zakariya (Surname)
Other names Ali Abdullahi
Hope mnaget… I basically want to remove the Hassan and have the last Zakariya as my surname. It causes no problem travel wise as my ID full names indicate Ali Abdullahi Zakariya which appear on the passport but huwa inaniwasha sana and I want to correct this. Partly because I love my surname being Zakariya and mostly due to my OCD. All my other siblings don’t give a ferk. So guys should I just apply for a new one indicating the correct arrangement of my names ama italeta shida ? Asanteni.
*All names fictional *

Edit an use fictional names for easy understanding.life is hard already and you want to make it even harder.

Haha poa

Go to a notary public get an affidavit confirming the names and the correct format, then apply for a new passport With the affidavit in form.

Is it a notary or a commissioner of oaths?

Sasa si itabadilisha hadi birth certificate pia?

Potato potato! I think both are like birds of a feather. I don’t trust any lawyer.

Miguna and Kabando both have only one name repeated twice and they are doing way better than you will ever achieve.
Stop bothering us with non issues.

I had a similar problem that originated from a spelling mistake in my birth certificate. I used the misspelled passport until it expired. While applying for a replacement, I swore an affidavit and the spelling mistake was corrected. Since you have the old passport, you don’t have to wait for it to expire. The government is phasing out those old passports and replacing the with the new generation ones.

surname si family name?..as in jina la babako?

No it won’t change kwa birth certificate as my name appear as Ali then fathers name Abdullahi Zakariya Hassan. So officially we just use till the third names taking your respective grandfather as the surname but current passport uses all the four which I want to rectify. Surname is usually supposed to be the grandfather name. In my case am using the great grandfather name which my Dad uses as his grandfather. It was an error from my old man side.

kwetu mi najua jina la grandparents huwa lako officially.
kama naitwa Yohanna Vodka Locks; Yohana is my first name. Vodka, my second name, comes from my grandfather, Locks, my father’s name, huwa ndio surname…my understanding though.

Sasa yetu hukuwa very easy. It’s basically the order of who sired who. Kama Ali Abdullahi Zakariya. Ali would be my name, Abdullahi will be the fathers name and Zakariya will be the grandfather which is used as surname. You can add one more ikuwe Ali Abdullahi Zakariya Hassan so automatically Hassan will be the great grandfather name but officially you only use till your grandfather names.

Mi jina ikuje na order gani I don’t give a hoot as long as zote ni zangu.

For instance my KCPE AND KCSE certs bear the name ‘everywhere tall mnyama’ while my ID, birth certificate and Degree Cert bear the name ‘tall mnyama everywhere’.

as long as ni jina zangu zote doesn’t matter the order.

Go for therapy for the OCD, the passport is fine.

my birth cert and id show different places of birth. what to do

Which ever is the correct document, change the other with like I said… Swear an affidavit and take it in getting a new document. If you have kids and one of your documents is faulty you will mess them up.

I might have messed up my passport, all my documents am Lily Anna, and I applied as Lily Anna Anna, does it affect my stuff in any way
