Hehe…there is someone who was telling me that when CFC stanbic were doing the name change, there are some corporate guys from SA who came down here for some jobo. So they were asking my pal, who is a security consultant, questions about security in Kenya.
the SA guys asked “So how many ATMs have you lost this year?”
My pal, confused: " What do you mean ‘lost’“?
SA guys: " how many ATMs were stolen?”
My pal, even more confused: " what do you mean ‘stolen’?"
SA guys: " In south africa we have had some ripped out of the walls and disappeared"
My pal: " None!! We dont have people stealing entire ATMs!!!"
My pal told me they were genuinely shocked that we havent fikad that level. In SA its standard practice.
