Vp wadau. My insurance requires me to deregister my salvage as part of claim process. Ive turned down the deal to buy the salvage. Anyone who has the procedure cauz so far Im receiving different opinions from advisers and I feel Im prone to be conned. The process doesnt appear online web. Especially on those letters to be taken to NTSA
Deregistration should be done by the insurance company since they will remain with the vehicle,waambie waache upus

I have never claimed a totaled car from insurance but I guess you have to forfeit the car to be compensated. I also think you are the only one that can transfer your car , salvage or not, to any other party. ownership of a car does not equate to its location. I guess there must be a legal contract to be signed for you to go through with this. LEGAL contract. Otherwise ask insurance agents you know. they are familiar with the processes.
I succeeded. A total of three letters were written by service special unit, CID and myself. SSU did tapelifting and NTSA request letter, CID at a nearest policestation did data entry to Interpol and I wrote to NTSA regarding the request. Went to Interpol incharge officer at CID Kiambu rd to obtain the results from interpol.
Now waiting for NTSA to reopen (closed due to Covid19).
Signed transfer letter will be issued to the insurance awaiting a buyer. Transfer via NTSA’s TIMS will be initiated if they get a buyer.
Arent they supposed to take possession of the scrap and pay you?
Not sure. The salvage is still at my mech’s garage. Will update this thread coming week when the whole process comes to a completion.
