…Apart from Wisconsin, Stein is also looking for recounts inMichigan and Pennsylvania. All the three are battleground states where Republican Donald Trump defeated Democratic Hillary Clinton by thin margins…
Trump ain’t liking this, although He won by over 27,000 votes, in Wisconsin, a margin of 0.7%.
In Michigan over 10,000, a margin of 0.3%, and in Pennsylvania, over 68,000, a margin of 1.2%.
That’s over 100,000 votes, am not sure if this will change anything.
Stein’s campaign is raising money to pay the recount fee, which is yet to be to be calculated. The estimated cost is likely to be $1 million and the campaign has raised over $5 million. She has said her aim is to raise $7 million to cover other fees and legal costs.
“The recount was not filed in order to change the election outcome, which is unlikely, nor to favor any one candidate. We are pursuing this recount to verify the integrity of the election result,” Stein’s campaign manager David Cobb said in the statement.
If the recounts go in favor of Hilary Clinton, she would win the elections with 278 electoral votes, CBS News reported. However, the report noted that recounts rarely change election results.
Just as an FYI, in the US, any money raised for any political purpose cannot be diverted for any other use. for example the money Hillary raised in the billions for her campaigns and any unused will either be returned to individuals if it was super donors or given to the Democratic party.
Hapa hapana Kenya that campaign funds are diverted for personal use. Google Jesse Jackson Jr and see what happened to him and his wife for doing that. And there 're many more examples.
This reminds me of Moi…before and after the Coup. He CHANGED. These guys want to see a changed Don. Will HRC survive the Email Server scandal if Don decides to pursue her?
I marvel at such naive, fawning views of the great US of A.
The fact that one can raise BILLIONS via PAC’s, or that Donald Trump can become President without revealing his tax returns, history of bankruptcy or how he ended up using donor funds, should tell you that it is no better than Kenya, only ‘sanitized’. Same applies to corruption in the West, where major acoounting firms are used to give a sheen of legitimacy to any dirty dealings, until they’re found out.
According to the latest election filings,Trump’s campaign had paid $1.3 million to rent campaign office space in his own building. It’s spent another $544,000 for food and meeting space from Trump companies and $333,000 for travel security provided by Trump employees.
The biggest ticket item, so far, appears to be $6 million paid to TAG Air to lease his private plane for campaign travel.
He’s also paid to himself another $423,000 for his campaign’s use of Mar-A-Lago, his Florida estate, and his Florida golf club.
No Trump company appears too small to dip into campaign cash. The campaign paid $1,300 to Trump Ice for bottled water and $5,000 to a Virginia winery owed by son Eric Trump for catering and event space, according to the accounting.
