Two cabinet secretaries have said Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga is responsible for causing voter apathy in central Kenya by exposing corruption in the Jubilee administration.
Speaking at Karatina PCEA church on Sunday, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri said that Mr Odinga has been taking advantage of graft scandals to discredit the administration, which has led to the apathy.
“We know that he is just exposing these scandals to discredit Jubilee in central. His main aim is not fighting corruption but destroying the confidence of Mt Kenya voters towards the government,” Mr Kiunjuri said.
Similarly, his Finance colleague Henry Rotich said the government is committed in tackling graft.
“The government is fighting corruption by all means. Last time you gave Jubilee 90 per cent of the votes and this time we know you will give more. Do not agree to be divided,” he said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta will begin his tour of central region on Monday.
Someone tell Henry Rotich and Kiunjuri to CUT THE BULLSHIT, which Government are the two talking about, in regard to fighting graft ?
Not once, twice or thrice have Uhuru declared in public, that He is incompetent in matters fighting corruption.
Raila Amollo Odinga, was good business in the last general erection, and I don’t expect Jubilee to come with the same this time round. Uhuruto should be selling their record on development and fighting graft, and not Raila.
I wonder what voter apathy you guys are talking about. Tutavote 123.5%. Just a few idlers on the interwebs won’t vote, and they won’t make a damn difference…
Central region will not be taken for a ride this time round. The enthusiasm of waking up very early to go and vote is slowly eroding. Truth be told. Uhuru has to come and woo voters again and to install confidence. That’s what he has come to do in the disguise of opening mega projects.
True. Even during voter registration early this year, it was noted that turnout was low in jubilee strongholds.
Anyway, Uhuru’s win is not in doubt. But they must hope that it doesn’t become like the HRC case where her supporters kept away from voting because they knew she would easily defeat DJT
But there have been massive voters registration going on even now. The current form fours who are leaving school in the course of this week are being registered if they are 18 years. The chiefs and headmens have been ordered to go door to door and register voters. I don’t know whether it’s happening in other areas. In Central they are targeting young people.
can the good development record be heard among all the din of scandals that are not scandals? i am talking about the “theft” of five billion shillings as claimed by NMG that was later revised to 1.3 billion and now they are not talking about it…
