Buying a car from ug/tz

For those who’ve done this, what are other additional costs you have incurred when owning cars from ug/tz. I can’t imagine it is as straightforward as buying a comesa certificate and driving your car.

Chukua ten kay nunua baiskeli uweke kcq uwache hiyo mambo ya gari za museveni.

Because of why?

How else does one find a manual transmission turbo at a reasonable price. Something that has not been thrashed on local roads and subjected to local mechanics.

@1776 where are you at?

does this just sounds funny to me. hi ni kizungu mfti?

Hata huko uganda wako na local roads. Even worse than ours. Na usidhani mech wa huko ni any different. How else you ask? You import or buy from factory. That is how else

It’s a direct translation from kiuk.
‘niundu wa kii’.

sababu ya nini?

Hii ni gari gani ?

I’m not talking about locally used cars.

Forester STI. Caldina GT-Four. All old models along those lines.

Unless hufiki being , I am sure kuna Forester STI 2011 manual .I am not sure about getting a Caldina .If all else fails tafuta Forester STI Mzee Kwa yards in their Home ground aka Eastlands and work on it.

Ooh, I see. Tz and Ug mechanics are International Ones ?:D:D

I just highlighted the same:D technically they are international juu si wakenya:D

You just don’t get it. No age limit = older imports FROM JAPAN = cheaper cars = better selection. Get the drift?

You never pointed that out key point(old imports)

Naona auto trans 2011 inafika hadi 1.7m. That’s no even sti. Sifiki bei. Gotta get those 2005 e.t.c models. Gari mzee is exactly what I’m avoiding.

Sorry sir but that old model is exactly what you will get.

Dunno maybe I didn’t clarify. I want the old model… but imported from Japan etc. What I don’t want is an old model used for 5 years in KE.
