I remember modifying Mozilla and Chromium based browsers way back in 2009, to always save Passwords whether user accepts to it or not, and also preserve cookie sessions by using some form of persistence, can’t recall if it was based on the system clock or wth it was.
Then I would install that compromised browser to all the cyber Cafés, University labs and any computer I could get access to, back then Admin password was easy to guess, or I could use Netcat, Cain&Abel, and John the ripper, to bruteforce but, rainbow table was easy. Some sites would even crack it for you free, though you had to wait for 24 hours.
Cybers used to format their PCs often so I had to frequently go collect the loot, and analyze, went on for some time, till some ninja posted an executable emailer, that could lift any flat file(txt) and send it via email after a while, or when clicked. Good old days
