Bush Mech 101

Sometimes when your idling is off, acceleration takes days (kama 504 ya @emali) and your fuel consumption is wanting, chances are your air flow sensor needs a clean.
Usually this would be your first stop… Choke cleaner

But sometimes your budget is lean, and desperate times call for desperate measures.
So who knew surgical spirit could be used to clean a MAF sensor?

Remove said MAF sensor carefully. Might help to take ‘before’ photos just so the process is dummy-proof.

Pour some spirit in a little cup and dip the bit of the sensor with the wires inside.
Let soak for a while. You’ll notice fine sediments settling at the bottom of the cup.
Alternatively throw the component into a polythene bag filled with spirit and shake gently.

For extreme cases you could very very carefully wipe the very very delicate sensors with an ear bud.
If you’ve got the shakes do not attempt this as you will damage the entire component… and your only other option here would be replacement…

When you’re done, let it dry for twenty minutes and fix it back.
You’ll have spent less than 200 bob on something your mech would have charged you quite a handsome buck.

Hii ni ya gari.

Sure. Which part exactly? Bike work is quite broad. Carbs alone could take a day…

you can either do everything a traveling biker needs to know or the basics.

… wanna do a road trip to arusha and back then another to naivasha and back. Need to know the basics atleast but if you have the whole guide, i wouldnt mind that either.

Okay. A generic thread then. I will look through my pictures and post one.

504 yangu haina shida ya acceleration…shida ni kuvibrate ikifika around 70km/h…nimefanya wheel alignment , nikabadilisha bushes karibu zote lakini same problem…nashuku hapa nilipata gari ya accident

Hehehe… Kukuchokoza tu.
I had a similar problem. Tried everything. Turned out that one of my tyres was out of round so at a certain speed it would shake everything in the car even worse than your typical vibration.

tyres ndio zilikuwa suspect no 1. nikawekelea goodyear all round za mkamba…hii gari lakini nikama iko na hasira na mimi juu ya ile curry powder imekula za kuziba mashimo za radiator…

wheel bearings? finished bushes? finished tie rods and tie rod ends?
check those.

bushes nilibadlisha hizo bearings na tie rods nitazjicheki basi
