This is too much
Why always Kenya?
Not even huruma pia pipeline nothing can be done corruption rules waititu defend landlords when they were ear marked for demolishing
Enyewe corruption will never worn:D
Ndio matokeo ya huo ujinga wa Baba Yao & Cartel. Some of these buildings would have been demolished eons of years ago and the developers learnt their lesson but because of entertaining cartels, even the new buildings have been collapsing while under construction or before being occupied.
We have a thing we call in Kikuyu “kuhuthia maundu” which directly translates into “making things lighter” but a better translation would be “underrating the seriousness of things.”
Here we go
The tenants when looking for a place to move into saw that building looking suspicious and didn’t bother check with authorities whether it’s safe. Had they done that they would have learned that it was marked to be demolished. Laziness, foolishness and ignorance made the tenants ignore their safety.
Since we have a dysfunctional government your safety is your responsibility.
When Kidero tried to demolish those houses, it was turned into a tribal issue. And some tenants refused to vacate claiming that they can’t find alternative accommodation.
This will be well addressed when Kenyans consider safety & quality first and not how cheap it is. Lastly, rural to urban migration is the key player here!
Sasa wanakula ukabila na ujeuri yao.
Why do villagers want to live near the city
I think some seek development (health, education, wealth/trade, jobs & pleasures of life) while others just visit and prolong their stay!
And this particular building was among those condemned that were supposed to be demolished. Watu walihamishwa but wengine wakaona waanze kuishi hapo. Now they have paid the ultimate price.
