Despite the respect that Tanzania’s media fraternity has for Kenya, their counterparts have reportedly received a whopping amount of money to facilitate propaganda aimed at orchestrating unrest in the neighboring country, Tanzania.
Credible sources indicate that payments are being made in phases, depending on the influence of specific media houses. Priority is reportedly given to online media outlets and microblogging platforms. In an unbelievable twist, the Nation Media Group is said to be on the payroll although only a few individuals, led by senior editors, are alleged to be secretly benefiting. The source adds that more attacks should be expected from NTV, where only one person with decision-making authority has been approached.
Who is the paymaster?
Maria Sarungi, a Western operative born to a Tanzanian father and a Hungarian mother, has allegedly established a base in Kenya. Through initiatives known as Shangazi Power, MwanzoTV, and ChangeTanzania, she reportedly received USD 400,000 from the Ford Foundation under the guise of conducting online civic education. Her Chief of Staff, Hamza Mshaba, is said to lead teams of online actors and microbloggers across East Africa to create and distribute content aimed at inciting violence and creating chaos.
The main strategy involves creating false narratives through fabricated content containing allegations, fake news, and inflammatory messages targeting Tanzanian leaders. These are often supported by fake witnesses to build credibility and drive targeted campaigns directed at the international community.
So far, no Kenyan institution has taken steps to condemn these subversive activities. Insiders warn that Tanzania must take serious measures to counter the alleged evil plans originating from the neighboring country and question the silence of the Kenyan government.

She should address the issues facing tanzaninans instead of looking for scape goats. She should know that it is tanzanians who willfully went to the streets to protest against her govt and the rigged election.
