in my fourth year of LLB , i did the unit children and the law whereby some things were being illegalized like corporal punishment.

i critiqued the 2022 childrens act whereby it tries to be too lenient on children in conflict with the law and children in contact with the law.

section 221 raises the age of criminal responsibility from 8 to 12 years which is good and as stakeholders we want it raised to 14.

section 14 illegalizes teachers preventing children from going for games/PE

section 63 establishment of rescue centers .

so as uncle Uwes i like the 2022 children’s act and am still familiarizing with the new sections, but i will support corporal punishment when necessary
