Chesumei Member of Parliament (MP), Elijah Lagat, and former Mosop Legislator, David Koech, have ditched President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party and joined Raila Odinga’s National Super Alliance (NASA).

Speaking on Tuesday, July 18 while launching NASA campaigns in Eldoret, the leaders led more than ten MPs in joining the opposition, accusing the Jubilee administration of failing to cater for the needs of local farmers since they took office in 2013.

The leaders, who included former MPs and Ministers in the KANU regime, faulted the Jubilee government for undermining devolution, saying that they belong to NASA’s school of thought of allocating 45% of the national revenues towards the counties.

“The Jubilee government has frustrated the farmers in this country. We have launched intensive campaigns for NASA in Rift Valley to vote out a failed government. We have looked at NASA’s manifesto and felt that it suits us best,” said Mr. Lagat.

Guys were humiliated in the Jubilee nomination as they lost by 90% votes. Now instead of accepting the people verdict, they pull this stunt. Wembe ni ule ule. Lastly their defection is useless, all candidates of all parties were submitted months ago. Last night the ballot papers started arriving into the country.
