Former NBA player Kent Bazemore has agreed to pay his ex-wife $1.5 million to finalize their divorce and will also pay $5,000 monthly in child support.
Court documents obtained by Page Six Tuesday show that Bazemore, 35, paid Serpe, 34, $1,520,944.34 for her share of the Atlanta estate. In return, the college athlete had to issue a “quitclaim deed” transferring “any and all interest” she had in the house to the former Hawks player.
Bazemore, who is trying to revive his career after signing with the Greensboro Swarm — the Hornets’ G-League affiliate - in January, also received sole and exclusive use, ownership and possession of the 2022 Porsche 911, 2022 Audi RS6 and the 2022 Dodge Ram 1500, the settlement agreement states.
A child support agreement obtained by Page Six also dictates the ex-NBA player must pay the college athlete $5,000. The former couple also agreed that they would not have to pay alimony to each other; however, they have a child support agreement for their two children - son 5 and daughter 3.
His lawyer played smart. That’s a deal in the corridors of celeb divorces. 5k a month for two kids is a deal. For a guy with a networth of around 30M (I think), 1.5M is not a big dent.
Emmanuel Eboue lost two houses, all his cars and half his money. He was left with his slumscrapers in Africa
For a player whose earnings were 100m, there’s no way his networth is 30m. 40% goes to tax, 15% goes to lawyers and management. Now start factoring in lifestyle expenses utashangaa.
Lawyers will never agree to a discounted settlement when they have a upper hand. Kama hauna prenup, they got you. Ati instead of 15m, they take 1.5 m, it will never happen. He’s probably worth 3-5m tops. Even that, I doubt.
