Birrionaire Hasmukh Patel body paraded on Mombasa streets

Hundreds of Mombasa residents have gathered to witness the unique funeral procession of the ‘people’s’ billionaire Hasmukh Patel.

His body, was paraded in a sitting position ahead of the cremation ceremony.

“Mzee will not be lying. He will be seated, a sign that he is not gone completely but still with us somehow. He will be watching,” a source in the family said.

Popularly known as the ‘people’s billionaire’ for his generosity to the needy, Patel will be cremated today, Sunday in Mombasa.

Before cremation, his body will be taken to the temple opposite Royal Court Hotel, where he had set-up charity offices where thousands of needy residents used to converge for help with school fees, hospital bills and other requirements.
