According to forbes, he is currently worth $6.25 billion. He has only invested about $20M in shark tank deals where he is the largest investor. He has starred in more than 100 episodes.
Considering that an episode takes very many hours to produce, and how precious time is to a billionaire, I think Mark participates in Shark Tank just for the thrill as a hobby. Nothing else can explain spending that much time and energy on a show and then investing less than 0.5% of your net worth.
