Betelgeuse impending supernova

That’s what’s up

Yes. Keep looking up

I’ve been checking for it the last couple of years, bado

If anyone wants to see it, look up tonight if there’s a clear sky at around 9pm. It is the red star in the Orion constellation.

It’s to the left of the three stars at the middle of the Orion constellation

Aaai I love my sleep

Unalala saa ngapi kwani buda?

By 9pm I’m gone

I thought am the only one who follows astronomical activities as a pastime. The size of this star is mind boggling. If it could replace our sun, it would stretch all the way into Jupiter’s orbit

I can identify 9 constellations and 6 major stars scattered in all the sections of the night sky! I have seen the mighty Andromeda Galaxy with my naked eyes under the clearest of skies and darkest of nights at Makitau along Voi to Taveta highway. There is very minimal light pollution there and stars seem to jute out like blue beads on a red Maasai shuka!

Having a telescope will make this to be even more fun.

I find the appeal of the night sky to be in it’s grandeur and vastness, which I think the telescope takes away when you ‘zoom in’. It’s good for once in a while.

Huko side za waMaasai, like 3 hrs into Narok, you can see so clearly. Not an artificial light in sight, you literally see clouds of stars. Hao watu hawapoteangi usiku juu wanajua kusoma map ya juu.

True especially where there is no light pollution

I dont know whats going on and at this
time i’m too afraid to ask

I would love to see andromeda galaxy with my naked eyes but my efforts have been unsuccessful. Which part of the sky is it?

Right now in the season the galaxy is up above us as from the evening to an hour or two before dawn. But ,unfortunately, even if you travel to as far away from artificial lights as Turkana, you just can’t see it because the moon is also up and the moon spoils the party even more than artificial lights.
