Hello members, your opinions please. Which is the best Insurance company in kenya to cover for your car. Wenye hawasumbui clients incase of an accident ama gari ikiibiwa. Your advice please. Nilikuwa jubilee but wamenizungusha sana kunilipa side mirror. It took around months to refund me the amount I spend on the car.

Anyway tafta an insurance yenye you have a relative or a good friend who works in there
I was told by my insurance UAP that if my claim is below the about 50k excess they cannot do anything for me and I have to do my own repairs (luckily it was above!). Is this common and is it fair really ? Also I insured this excess so I do not have to pay it which is a relief. Luckily they also provided a car for use for 2 weeks whilst my vehicle is in garage.

I would say APA. Gari yangu ilipata accident late last year, APA walinishughulikia bila hassle mingi, maybe because I had a good agent. Total cost of car repair was 262K (although the garage could have inflated the repair cost). Anyway, APA covered it, sikulipa garage hata shilingi.
Nalipa 30k insurance annually, 4% of car value which was 750k

Jubilee is fast becoming chieth. Avoid those mathafakas like nobody’s business.
I used to vouch for comprehensive insurance but nowadays i cannot advice anyone to take out a policy with any firm in kenya. The industry is now rife with a lot of corruption, dishonor and underhand deals esp with a tanking economy. Juzi a buddy aliingiwa na nduthi kwa jam and the guy ran off. The insurance declined to pay the claim citing they cannot be sure of whether it is a hit and run or self sabotage. Alijiundia gari.
The best insurance saa hii is yourself. Drive carefully, give way na uchunge gari lako.
Buda kumbe saingine unaweza bonga sense?
AAR hapana mbaya.
Heritage and AIG. Case closed. Watu sasa wakunywe maji warudi kulala
No reputable insurer will ever decline to pay a valid claim whether you are a direct client or through a broker. I am sure if we dissect the stories usually written here complaining about insurance companies, we’ll find that the fault is rarely with insurers. The fault is usually with the buyer and/or their agent/broker. Either by ignorance or attempting fraud or insisting to be paid where the claim is not payable e.g value of damage below excess, usage of vehicle not corresponding to the cover bought etc
Take time and understand how insurance works (e.g familiarize yourlrself with excess, appropriate cover type), and be keen and follow up your car insurance personally even if it’s through a broker and insist on paying premiums directly to the insurance company and on time.
