Western Kenya is beautiful. One wonders why anyone would want to migrate from such a beautiful countryside to come live in Kibera or Kawangware.
And Jarunda always shoots beautiful, well lit and informative videos about his region. But one issue you will notice here is the poor planning of Kenyan business centers.
I think most Kenyan businesses that are based near a highway lose business instead of gaining business. First of all there is no space to park vehicles or rather hawker wamenyakua. People are parking their cars, trucks and buses on the beautiful, brand new Chinese highway.
There is no room for a customer to even walk. One fellow has even piled all his sofa sets on the pavement… who will stop there and purchase those seats???
Shouldn’t a road remain a road and a market a market?
Hapo tu ndio wamekosea. The governors should gazette new markets and business centers in their counties. Sio mtu kumwaga timber kwa barabara. They are a dangerous traffic hazard.
If you are a visitor to Oyugis you will just pass without stopping to shop because of the poor planning.
Shida ya Kenya ni poor planning or rather refusing to follow laid down masterplans.
Probably these businessmen encroached on the road decades ago and built permanent structures. An easier option would probably be to build a new road at the rear, entrance zote ziangalie nyuma but if worse comes to worst hizi structure zibomolewe, ziende zikienda.
Kiti ka Thika Garissa Highway, numerous Petrol stations are directly off that highway and numerous other Industries.
It becomes a risky affair when cars are being driven at 100km/hr, and you find a full loaded Trailer joining the same highway at 15km/hr.
@T.Vercetti apa leo napatia wewe kongole, very good insight to what is our Kenya today. Poor planning is the biggest hinderance to better and safe business environment, it’s a safety/health hazard. It would have been better to have all these businesses moved away from the main highway and have all the necessary ammenities provided
