So as to initiate a referendum.
Very true. A president seeking to change the constitution was a silly move.
In fact juu ashaonyesha ako na shida na current constitution he should just resign.
Uhuru was practically told to operate from his lane in matters pertaining to changing the constitution
A sitting president should never be allowed to change the constitution. What will prevent a tyrant in future from changing the same constitution and making himself a president for life. Or screwing us in a way he deem best.
It is a very dangerous precedent. In fact, everytime I imagine that Ruto’s presidency can possibly happen, I panic because of how Uhuru has destroyed institutions and disregarded our constitution. If BBI changes pass, and by bad luck the Sugoiman wins, he will most likely play by the same script but on steroids.
Exactly but some guys are blinded by party politics to see it, they think it is a popularity contest of raila-uhuru vs ruto.
It is lack of foresightedness and failing to learn from the past. In 1970s, the Kiambu mafia changed the law to create a powerful presidency thinking that Jomo Kenyatta would reign forever, only for Moi to use the same laws to screw them proper bila lube. Kenyans sacrificed a lot to have the 2010 constitution, so why should a sitting president attempt to mutilate it just for his personal gains? It is a very dangerous precedent.
Will never happen in Kinya
