Kenyan influencer and media personality Azziad Nasenya has moved to court to stop the auction of her high-end Kileleshwa apartment, accusing a savings and credit cooperative of illegally attempting to sell her property valued at over Sh20 million.
The case, now before the Commercial Court in Nairobi, pits Azziad against Qona Deposit Taking Savings and Credit Society, which she claims breached their loan agreement and acted unlawfully in listing her apartment for auction.
According to court documents, Azziad took a Sh21 million loan from the Sacco, using her luxurious Kileleshwa unit as collateral. However, after falling behind on repayment, the Sacco reportedly moved to recover the loan by putting the property up for sale.
Azziad says this move was both “rushed and illegal”, arguing that she had already resumed payments and cleared most of the arrears.
By September 2025, she had allegedly paid Sh4.2 million out of Sh5.1 million owed in arrears — yet, despite her efforts, the Sacco advertised the property for auction on October 8, with the notice appearing in the Daily Nation on September 24.
“I was shocked to see my apartment listed for sale,” she states in her affidavit, adding that she was never served with any statutory notice or repayment demand letter as required by law.
The property at the center of the dispute is part of a modern twin-tower development in Kileleshwa, strategically positioned between Lavington and Kilimani.
The 17-floor complex features 99 family-sized apartments, mostly four- and five-bedroom all-ensuite units with domestic staff quarters (DSQ).
High-end finishes include spacious living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies, fitted kitchens with pantries, and wooden flooring. Residents also enjoy a swimming pool, gym, landscaped gardens, children’s play area, and 24-hour security.
Azziad further claims the Sacco’s auction notice misrepresented her unit as a three-bedroom apartment, a move she says would undervalue her property and result in significant financial loss.
Through her lawyer, the influencer is seeking a court injunction to bar the Sacco from proceeding with the sale until the case is heard and determined.
She accuses Qona Sacco of acting in bad faith by ignoring her repayment efforts and violating the agreed terms.
The Sacco has not yet issued a public response or filed an official defense regarding the allegations.
