Firstly a BIG Thank You to our Nairobi guests(watu wa bara) for coming to Mombasa & Kenya coast in large
numbers. A couple of hints If you are driving to Diani from Nairobi please spare yourself the agony at the ferry and simply bypass Mombasa by turning right
at Samburu on Mombasa Nbi highway. Use the Kinango. Kwale road and join the Likoni Ukunda road. The road is in good condition and you will drive through Shimba forest quite scenic. It is good to do that sector during daylight. For those of you driving to North coast again spare yourself the agony of Miritini
/Mikindani/Changamwe by turning left at Mazeras and use the Kaloleni road turn right and use Mwakirunge road. You will enter North coast from
Mtopanga & Bamburi. Again do this sector during daylight. Happy holidays and safe travels.
Was originally going to drive to diani, then because of the mess at Taru, decided to fly.
Let me insert some pics showing the alternative route you could have used. Your lucky to get any flight at short notice
Ahsante kakabrazza @paparazzi kwa hiyo info.
Though for me, I cannot plan to go to Coastoo (as nairobians call it) during the festive season. too many people.
I like visiting in June, July or August.
Ideal xmas for me ni shags family re-union, ka mbuzi pahali halafu ka-pombe in the local mung’etho whiling away with village mates who never had a chance to venture into Nairobi or other urban centers. They give endless stories and endless handshakes…usually very entertaining.
I know but its money i would rather not have spent flying. Driving would have been way more interesting
Same, here with me, as Nairobians flock to Mombasa and its environs me and my family pack some camping gear and head to the Aberdares, that’s where I call home
Driving along those routes would have been a great experience especially if you enjoy scenery. But kuna next time bro
Cheers man.
@Wakanyama where are you taking me?

What are the alternatives routes for us who are flying?? TMT rep
You can land at Moi international Airport using Jambo jet, fly 540 or the award winning KQ. Alternatively you can land directly at Ukunda strip using fly-sax. It only takes 45 minutes and it is 99% safe.
