It’s behind schedule for 1 year because of litigation from the hotel next door. Good to see work going on. It’s 4 buildings with different height but connected by a sky bridge.
Hotel next door sued complaining of noise and dust, good to see it going forward @Soprano, client ndiye contractor, AVIC ndio wamejenga two rivers na hiyo NHC iko hapo just before T-Mall
Westie is small and the roads are narrow. CBD is not going away any time soon because it enjoys a lot of human traffic even though multinationals prefer westie and Upper Hill for their regional hq’s.
Concrete jungle. Modern cities are moving away from such ugly sky scrappers to beatiful tree lined boulevards and simple houses. Visit Barcelona ujione.
Engineers in the house…for a project like this how do you cater for water, sewerage and drainage…county haiwezi kukusaidia hapa…how do you plan and mitigate to accommodate your requirements with the bottlenecks that are in place in terms of capacity of these essential services which are over stretched…if it’s borehole water…it has to be treated otherwise clients will complain of hard water etc etc,
You are severely, by a long shot, underestimating the capability of Nairobi Water and Sewerage. The bulk of the water will be supplied by Nairobi Water and stored in secondary reservoirs just below the basement parking. From there it’s pumped straight to the uppee mechanical floors for supply to the rest of the building.
If water is rationed, there’s still the secondary reservoir. If that runs out, which is highly unlikely (we are talking about Kenya’s capital district here), they will rely on trucks.
Well, sewerage is not a problem at all. Westlands is oversupplied with sewer lines.
Not forgetting that NWSC is currently upgrading water supplies and dams to increase supply to Nairobi and environs.
Anyway thats by the way, what still amazes me is the anti-development mentality still going on just because it’s Jubilee attracting them through economic growth, infrastructure upgrades and diplomacy. AVIC picked Nairobi to be it’s hub in Africa following the successful lobbying by President Uhuru during his historic first State visit to China. All it’s floor space will be occupied by itself and other Chinese firms that are to set up base of operations and industries in Kenya to serve the region.
