The mountain is no joke guys, it thunders when it gets touched. It punishes those who seek to undress it. It is brutal and unforgiving, but once you conquer it (or part of it) the view and excitement is out of this world.
This is the entrance through MT Kenya Forest

The place is green and peaceful. In the last picture above, we walked to the horizon, where the clouds touch the ground.
The walk up was as tiring as it can get, but I will share with you guys some of the great experiences up there.

On the way up you can see we left the forest proper and got to this moorland. The dry trees are the effect of the last forest fire that happened a while ago. They are dead trees, but the mountain forest is rejuvenating itself in the most glorious way ever. It was beautiful.

A mountain flower, it was like petting a cat at the touch of it. Needless to say it was awesome.

The view of the land below as we got up higher. The clouds move with such force and command you just have to sit down and just amaze at creation. You get to know that you are not in your territory but someones elses.

The view from the side of the mountain looking towards Nairobi. From here we could see everywhere, Nanyuki Town, Nyeri Town, Satima Peak and Kinangop. It was breath taking.

Another view. BTW it may look beautiful but walking here was not a joke, from the spring water coming down from the mountain, making the ground very soggy, to the cracks on the uneven ground. This was where we reached and decided to go back down. However this is where the vegetation ends and proper mountaineering starts.
Hopefully very soon we will go ride that mountain and conquer it were possible!
My tp link wifi router is off and the net at club signature is shit, can’t load photos, I’m sooo looking forward to seeing these pictures in the morning, like like like for bringing photos…!
Hii mwaka wameru hawakuchoma hio kichaka? Happens every year they believe by setting it ablaze it brings rain… Ikiwaka kuna kua na round up ya walevi nanyuki town kwenda kuzima moto
Nice photos. I summitted. Took 4days , and on the third day, it rained hail stones and the whole ground was snow covered.summitting is not for the faint hearted as my toe nail can attest.
One more thing, on September 30th, a couple walked into the park and went missing. Never heard from since that time. They suspected they might have killed themselves in the park. Also since we had no guide we had to be very careful not to get lost in there because its a very distinct reality. If you lost track of your path you can easily get lost and we did not want out moment of fame on TV. Not yet anyway
Awesome. True, at some point I was breathing so hard bana, my heart was literally pounding through my tshirt, when we started we all felt light headed…but it got better kiasi after some time.
If only we got there earlier, I suspect we saw a cave somewhere, tungefika hadi huko or even base camp 2. You take any photos of the summit? When were you there. MT Kenya lazima tupande hadi juu. Kilimanjaro too.
