Ever since I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 this question has always lingered on my mind. For those who have not watched Fahrenheit 9/11 al give a brief intro to the part I am talking about. In 2000, Bush vs Gore went to the wire. And Florida was the deciding vote. BUT a Caucus of Black Congresspeople stood up and said the vote in Florida can not be counted because 94,000 African American votes were not counted in Florida because of “faulty voting machines”, illicit challenges to their votes and other factors.
The caucus of black congresspeople wrote a petition that needed JUST ONE VOTE FROM ONE SENATOR for the Florida vote to be nullified. Yet NOT A SINGLE DEMOCRATIC SENATOR stood on their two feet to sign their objection to the disenfranchising of 94,000 black voters in Florida. NOT A SINGLE ONE.
