I was surprised though, when he told me that alot of these land has been taken over by some entities hiding behind some nature and environmental conservancy.

NRT has not grabbed any land. They are just helping the communities manage it for sustainable management and production of livestock. A journalist fabricated this land-grab narrative sometime late last year and the sensational nature of the article made spread like fire!
A typical Kenyan is a scavenger, he takes everything. Leaves nothing behind.
