The issue was clear, Serena stated thjat she didn’t receive any coaching signals while on court hence the umpire’s rule was unfair and went ahead to call him a thief for unjustly stealing her point. The umpire justfied that by taking away a whole game from her. I think she was determined to catchup in that set but the umpire dealt her an emotional blow to ensure Naomi’s win.
Serena also had some other monkeys on her back
- She was being outplayed (obvious from 1st set)
- That umpire had done the same thing to Venus years ago. Racial issue - I don’t know.
What I know is that her tantrum spoiled the greatest moment in that young girl’s life (so far). I hope they meet again for an encore performance

In tennis anything happens. Several times serena has come from a set down to win the match. The fact that the second set ended 6-4 points out to a fighting competitor. All factors kept constant the set would have ended 6-5 which pushes it to a tie break.

I like collegiate football more than the NFL due to the excitement, unpredictability/upsets and raw talent…in 2010 it was great to watch guys like Cam Newton when they were raw …
