Antibiotics will Kill lots of Kenyans

At the beginning of the year, there was outrage among Kenyans when a local brand refused to cut-back on antibiotics use in Kenya ( http://www.businessdailyafrica.com/corporate/Burger-King-to-use-antibiotics-reared-chicken/539550-3507682-8719kcz/index.html ) There was outrage on social media for a while which later on toned down as people later forgot and went on with their lives. People like me didn’t forget, we just kept the event at the back of out heads and patiently observed. This week, the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) has warned that increased use of antibiotics to boost growth of animals is endangering the health of meat consumers ( http://www.nation.co.ke/business/Antibiotics-put-meat-lovers--health-at-risk/996-3897808-6rb4aez/index.html )
Meanwhile last year UK lashed out at Burger King and KFC for their lax efforts in curbing the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which kills 700,000 people worldwide each year ( https://www.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2016/sep/20/burger-king-kfc-mcdonalds-antibiotic-free-meat )
Now i’ve only gone to Burger King about thrice here in Kenya. I vowed never to again after the beginning of this year. The Burger King in US and UK are much better than the one in Kenya though in terms of quality control which Kenya lacks due to corruption. As for KFC, I only went once just to sample their overpriced and unhealthy chicken. The one that is okay in my opinion is Subway, the rest are garbage and trash. I love my health because Health is wealth but do most Kenyans know this. In a Continent where the average IQ is about 70 to 80 but growing, it’s the reason I put out my posts. Heck if I can save one life the better. If you look at the statistics, you’ll see the number of Cancer cases growing almost exponentially. The number of Cancer Centers growing. If you want to make money, putting up a Cancer Center is the in thing in Kenya now as messed up as it sounds. Now, one of this days i’ll visit most hospitals to obtain data of how many Cancer related deaths they recorded since 2010. Maybe i’ll share this data here or with the News Agencies. Keep Healthy and take care of your bodies.

you have extreme issues with yourself. it’s 6.20 am for heaven’s sake!

Uzuri mi chakula nadish ni straight from its habitat, ata mi ndo huwa nazipanda, kuku nacheki ikitaga mayai, shosh has soooo many, and then nyama ya mbuzi iko always available, so, I can’t relate to biotics killing mofos

Ad hominem right there. You actually missed his entire point because he hurt your ego. Hehehe Gash

Poster has a point, cancer is killing people daily, it has become so common , there must be some in the air water or food that is making it so rampant ( I say this three because we have them in common , poor and rich)

We cannot deny there are issues of concern in matters of health and especially cancer but you cannot tell what the Hocus pocus above is. Too many issues told badly.

Why would he hurt my ego, oh ye famed storyteller?

Correlation is not causation! The number of cancer centres and cancer cases has nothing to do with the likes of Buger King & KFC fast food joints in Kenya. Recently its was proven that the beloved ‘Mursik’ by our Kalenjin brothers is the leading cause of oesophageal cancer in the rift valley regions where its consumed the most. HA! all ‘natural’ mursik causing cancer??

For no click brigade ’ Mursik a popular drink with people from this area was consumed more by patients with esophageal cancer than controls. An association with drinking of “mursik” as a risk factor was seen in this study

Folks in shags don’t even know KFC or burger king exists! So how do they get the killer disease? Your research is flawed and biased!

true, an uncle of mine deeply rural folk died several years back. Even fries and Royco were alien to him

you should also consider the fact that nowadays health diagnostics is more advanced, therefore detecting more cases of cancer than 50 or 100 years ago

True maybe its not that we getting more cancers it could be we detecting it more in the old days it could be have been passing off as curse or witchcraft!

It hasn’t become any commoner than it always was IMO. But improved knowledge and availability of diagnostics now ensures that those ‘untimely’ or ‘suspicious’ deaths that would have otherwise been dismissed as witchcraft can now properly and scientifically be attributed to cancer (or other illness for that matter).

This is not to take away the effects of environmental pollution and contamination (water and air) and influencebof the same on causation of cancers and other illnesses.

Majorly, water contamination. Observe what’s happening in coffee growing areas.
