Goat Farming is very profitable especially meat. Just get a ranch in areas where land is sold cheaply and there you go. Look for lorries daily in mombasa rd carrying goats to Nairobi from Ranches in Lower eastern then fill in the gaps

I keep mine zero grazing, am a small time farmer to advise on this, Billy Drago and Paul the farmer may chip in.

However, if on a rainy area with lotsa trees separately the sky is your limit…esp in a zero grazing setup. You can even keep 50 plus goats confidently. Every farm is different.

Nope, i only had one case (heavily pregnant goat) and I was using grains excessively unknowingly, part my mistake part my farm hand but we since rectified the problem…oh, that goat died of Enterotoxemia.

Walevi ndio market (social events and parties included), with Idd being the icing. The goat niche is however wide; dairy and meat, then there are breeders of the said segments who sell at ridiculous prices. Am experimenting with dairy.

So far so good, the demand for milk supercedes production. Am trying to adapt them to semi zero grazing esp the kids (I need a bigger structure)…they walk all day withing the compound then only suckle in the morning and evening. Demand for goats is very high, esp young kids (3 months) due to affordability. I market them through local WhatsApp groups.

Yes, 100%. I started with zero grazing too when housing allowed. Some farmers like Naivas Fresh goat Dairies and Mwihoko Dairy goats Githurai keep 60+ goats fully enclosed.

Its CDT vaccine, I will start using it when I hit 30 goats plus, for now I have to be careful with feeding routine, I keep french alpines only.
