Voices voices, I was hearing voices from afar, I tried to open my eyes but it was like two momos were sitting on my eyelids, they were so heavy but my sense of hearing was back 70%, I was coming in back from the cold, the voices I heard were prayers going on from guys around my hospital bed, at first I couldn’t make out who was saying what but gradually I was able to identify the voices, my neighbor , a pastor was leading the prayers and there were thunderous AMENS after every pause. I tried to lift my arm to show that I was conscious now but could not feel it, same with my legs, so I just lay there and listend. After prayers ikaanza story vile waliskia juu ya accident yangu, I could hear them clearly and identify them, my boss was there, so were several workmates, my neighbours and ofcourse my family.
Kukaa kaa kidogo nikaskia mtu amesema drip imeisha, (yes I was hooked to a drip) na wakaita nurse, the nurse chased them all out na akafanya mambo zake then invited them back in, by this time I was wide awake, kuangalia time it was 4:30pm, had been out for over 10 hrs, guys was I glad to see everyone, my whole body was still numb but I could move my neck side to side and see everyone around my bed. It was visiting hour
Marathon ya maombi ikaanza tena pepo zote zikikomeshwa and wishing me quick recoverly, visiting hr ikaisha nikabaki na close family and that’s when the orthopedic surgeon who had operated on me came in to see his patient. He was an elderly gentleman who kindof looked like Morgan Freeman, just one look at him and I knew I was in safe hands. He told us all that the injury I had suffered is know as a trimalleolar fracture (A trimalleolar fracture is a fracture of the ankle that involves the lateral malleolus, the medial malleolus, and the distal posterior aspect of the tibia, which can be termed the posterior malleolus. The trauma is sometimes accompanied by ligament damage and dislocation.). yes, me ankle was broken in three places.

hehehe, i had a plate and screws in my leg holding all my broken bones together.
Doc then said that my leg has to be non weight bearing for 90 days, a whole ferking three months and my heart sank even further. After he left I remained with my family, I looked round the room, by this time the bed had been cranked up and I was sitting at an angle and I got a glimpse of my leg, the plaster cast started at knee level all the way down to my toes. Something else I also noticed was the fruits, my friends had brought so much fruits for me it was enough to fill two Nakumatt stores, among the fruits was a get well card and some flowers from my insurance agent, I was informed that my son had called them informing them of my mishap. (I wondered where she had got the card on a Sunday afternoon, @Afro hebu elezea) then the nurse gave me an injection and chased my visitors out, within a minute I was floating past Pluto into outer space. Total blackness once again. End of day one.
