Hiyo ya sbm how many currencies does it hold ? Niliona ya Barclays holds over 5 currencies, ya I&M holds 3 currencies, whatever you pick maybe you can consider picking that which holds more currencies .

I think just the US dollar, reason for picking I&M or SBM is the forex exchange rates incase I need to load through MPESA, that’s what matters to me, they’ve got the best forex rates against any other bank based on my research.

I received a refund of about a quarter of the product’s price I bought on Amazon 5 months ago. The item was 20k bought in aug this year, then yesterday I noticed my bank account has been credited about 6k. Checking the source of money I noticed it was from Amazon and they had sent an emails stating that the shipping cost was less by that amount. These guys can be honest, I had even forgotten about the transaction

I bought an item worth < 200$ on Amazon through my card a while ago and it worked. Now when I am trying to purchase an item worth >1500$, I am unable to purchase the item. For anyone with experience purchasing items on Amazon, could it be the bank that is blocking my transaction since it is larger or some sellers that refuse foreign cards?

If you do this you are simply throwing money away.

You pay 110 shillings you get 1 dollar. If you now want to spend 100 shillings, the bank converts your 1 dollar at their exchange rate you get 100 shillings. Your net balance after the transation is 0. Ten shillings zimeenda hivo, x1500 dollars hiyo ni 15k gone…

Don’t mix your local currency na foreign currency. As much as is possible, convert once, ikae hivyo hivyo, and spend it in that currency.

Yes this is true, I really avoid buying currencies through the bank using the card,naweka tu ile pesa nitatumia I never withdraw until I use it on my next online purchase, utaenda kahasara.

So they do put limits on cards attached to your account? This is frustrating. What is a hustle free way/card/bank to be doing online shopping then?

This is helpful incase conmen land on your card. Remember someone needs only the card number, date of expiry and cvv to shop online with your card.
