Many maids are young and scared, they would not know what to do if an accident happened. Most flee. Pole to the mom. So painful.

I have never understood why women don’t put nanny cams to get real time footage of her what is happening regardless of their location. This is a very sad case.

A housemaid was gossiping and getting her hair braided at the ground floor as a sleeping child ( now awake ) was wondering in a kitchen with a hot stove boiling supper ingredients …

Never had a nanny under 45 and luckily the motion sensors in my house somehow do the trick, you can’t convince my nanny that those are not cameras. I know this is not possible for most nairobians but I made a vow with my wife to reduce our crazy schedules once our son arrived…I stopped doing some of my gigs and she also reduced her overseas trips…she now delegates 80% of her trips…covid also helped reduce travel. We also encouraged the nanny to be reporting any accident however small.
You can have the whole house under surveillance but it is like Kenyans are allergic to technology. If I have to leave my kids with a house help I have to have surveillance footage in real time. Some psychos are even making kiddy porn via househelp then blackmail parents to pay. We are living in a very psycho world you can not afford to just leave your kids anywhere anyhowly. Even that job you are doing is for those tois. They are the most important thing.
