All contracts to be cancelled

NASA has said they will review and cancel contracts that Jubilee has awarded if they seem unsatisfactory to NASA eyes. What does this mean:

  1. All those awarded contracts by Jubilee will go a long way to ensure NASA does not win

  2. All those waiting for contracts (US and European) that Chinese will lose will go a long way to ensure Jubilee does not win

  3. Lots of local politicains will have to shine their eyes afresh on the loot. Politics goes hand in hand with policy. Hard to separate the two nowadays.

  4. Lots of ongoing projects will become white elephants. Recall days of CDF. uncompleted projects caught in between elections became null and void. Politicians must eat because they think it is better to start new projects than finish old ones.

  5. Make way for new tenderprenuers who are allied to NASA. Out with the old, in with the new.

  6. In conclusion, Uhuru just signed a loan for SGR in Chinkuland.

Total nonsense. You cannot invalidate contracts by decree. This is meant to hoodwink Kenyans.

Cancellation of all contracts comes with a steep cost. This is included in the contracts. See how much govt had to pay for Anglo-Leasing contracts where almost nothing had been delivered. If you try and skip payments, they file lawsuits in international courts. And seize Kenyas’ assets abroad.

JaKuon said yesterday that Nyanza has 2.5 million votes, Western 1.5 million, and together the two will amount to 10 million.

That is the kind of reasoning that promises to renege on international contracts. At it’s most basic level, it is the kind of mind that finds burning a new clinic or ablution block in Kibera OK because it was built by political foes.

In total to the other votes. Thats what he means.

@simiyu,

You are telling me what you think he means, and I am dealing with what he actually said.

Where would those ‘other votes’ come from, and doesn’t Jubilee have the capacity to get them?

Back to contracts: has NASA considered the costs of cancelling?

Jubilee is assuming they have won. Its not like they are looking for any numbers. And anyway, theres no number Jubilee doesnt have access to in this country. Many , they even make up eg 12000.
As for the contracts " NASA has said they will review and cancel contracts that Jubilee has awarded if they seem unsatisfactory to NASA eyes. "
They will only review and cancel IF unsatisfactory.

what do you mean?

@Simiyu22, it would be really good if you realised the difference between predicting a landslide win, which Jubilee is generally doing by talking about 70+1% votes, and throwing around rigid figures, which Odinga is doing, by claiming that they have 10 million votes.

Si uende section ya maua na asalui kama umechoka na siasa? This is clearly labeled News & Politics.

Even NARC govt refused to pay cowboy contractors…

Litigation is not as simple as they would have you think…

won’t happen. When I sign a contract, I sign with the GOK, not NASA or Jubilee… And if someone else comes to power and cancells the contract I signed with GOK, I will go to court and GOK will pay me billions of dough for cancelling the contract… Remember what happened when the Govt cancelled the JKIA Greenfields project? They had to pay the contractor a pretty hefty cancellation fee.

To reach 10 million, voters will be imported from Uganda and South Sudan, and some who died since 1997 will be queuing to vote… that’s why they want Presidential results announced by Returning officers at constituency level be final.

Personally I think a list of every voter in every constituency should also be a public gazetted document. That way we cant have voter turnout north of 100%. And it gives both parties and the public the opportunity to audit the names on that list beforehand. And the supreme court should not accept the vote of any voter whose name was not on that list on election dispute. That way the public is made proactive.

Anybody can stretch truths if they want. All that counts is what happens on election day. Last time , many voters from the Coast were intimidated and did not show up to vote. UK kicked himself in the foot chasing one D-. He probably intimidated them enough to show up at the polls. The Western Voters may get off their seats this time instead of listening to the radio all day on election day. If these two things happen, we will have he 1st one-term president in the country.

The list is there, just go and verify every voter if you have the time.
