Usijali saana. Gone are the days when even local shops used to be closed on public holidays. We don’t have that luxury anymore.
These holidays that fall in the middle of the week are crap.
They only disrupt our schedules with nothing meaningful you can do on a single day.

Reminds me of my late uncle,he worked at city hall and most labour days he used to take us to watch the workers matching then afterwards he would take us to Luthuli for chicken and fries…I always associated labour day with good things , I was too young to understand what the word “retrenchment” meant and it was mentioned a lot on the final celebration I ever attended.

In civilised countries like the uk, public holiday is postponed to next monday so it makes more sense…
Am one of those people who is not impressed by the rate at which is set… Being an employer and the rate is set 10% plus yet our inflation is at about 5% same as the growth of the GDP…really stupid mathematics, It’s set on a political stage rather than an economic one.
