One time I was DJing at Secrets Lounge near Alliance and the crowd was wild with the Big Beat, and Breaks bangers I was mixing and this woman had the audacity to request for Drunken Love. I told her to fuck off so hard that I almost spit my tongue out. No way you’ll ruin a perfect set comprising of The Prodigy, FatBoy Slim, and The Crystal Method.

Music is also written with specific themes, for example a song titled ‘Get out of my country’ simply means that whoever is listening to it needs to haul ass out of my country and go be an immigrant or a slave somewhere else.

Music is both science and art.
Making music entails at least three aspects. Most important being understanding how human brain perceives sound and then manipulate imagination. Something that AI will never do. Also, understanding how a particular instrument works. This can be programmed by AI. Then collaborate different instruments to make a piece. You can concoct a program to combine instruments but that doesn’t mean it will be easy on the ear.
Here’s a simple piece, very simple that manipulates your brain. AI will never make a piece like this.

There’s many great musicians who couldn’t read sheets. Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix….
Truth is, music starts with imagination and then gets keyed.
AI cannot recreate imagination. Not now, not ever.
