Wadau, looks like this TV business is no joke…Panasonic this famously known Japanese giant has called it quits on its TV production business & handed it over to SkyWorth. This arrangement starts April 2026 targeting Europe & the US markets.
China is winning
Looks like they’ve already won, in a few months they’ll have acquired the biggest market share globally.
Naona TCL is edging out Samsung to be the biggest TV manufacturer worldwide. The Chinese are very smart mofos. They make a device with very good specs and make it affordable and then sell the devices in large volumes with thin profit margins and they get to enjoy market share.
Vile kunakaa only LG & Samsung will be left standing for a while, reason is they make their own panels and also sell them to others, kupitwa nayo watapitwa na TCL si siri.
Alaaaa? Anyway mimi TV siku izi if I want to buy naketi hapo nawatch kwanza nakagua quality alafu I make a decision, Market imejaa na za Chinku mingi
If you’re not going High End don’t waste your cash on those mainstream brands, just get yourself a TCL or Hisense QLED.
Mimi TV naye nikama baado sihitaji saana, nilipata a good monitor nika convert to TV and it is good
Sijawai mwaga nikinyonga na Panasonic
I am inclined to go TCL because of Google OS. The limiting factor ya Hisense TVs ni their Vidaa OS and you are limited to the number of applications you can install.
Big Sam wataweka mitego xinjin pin amekuja sana
Hehe, Huawei style. bazungus are sore losers.
Samsung is cooked in the TV market. Juzi nimekua supermarket they were trying to entice me with aty offer ya half price ati like 90k for sijui 55" Saa hiyo thats the going price for a similar tcl tv ama hisense
Btw i have my tcl smart tv from 2017 na altho i have to change the screen, it’s surprising bado inafanya
LG siwaoni wakilast long to be honest
Supermarkets isnt the best place to get a TV, plus Samsung are still the guys. If they will adjust their prices, theyre here to stay.
Shitty move if you ask me, unless Skyworth has a card in mind they’re looking to pull. If they can take over Panasonic’s OLED department, scale it up and reduce the prices, well they will certainly have the market’s attention. Otherwise I would say this move was best suited for Hisense. Already have a substantial chunk of the market and a decent QA that a lot are already familiar with. Skyworth’s gonna have an uphill task in that regards. With that being said, my first TV ever was a Skyworth and its still going great to this day.
Unfortunately I dont think Samsung will adjust their prices but with stiff competition from the Chinese I bet they will have to at some point. Remember what the Chinese did to the point Samsung decided to introduce the A series in the market, kama hawangefanya ivo the budget segment was already gone
Spot on. I do credit Samsung for bringing excellent specs to sub 30-40k phones, where Chinese followed up immediately.
I remember when Samsung were making very shitty phones at the 15-20k price point. For you to get a good Samsung phone you had to fork out 30k+ and then Xiaomi happened with their Redmi Note series sema Samsung kutolewa jasho they had to go back to the drawing board and thats when they introduced the A series which too the market by storm. Long live the Chinese!
The pre-2020 A series. Ati sijui Galaxy A6. These phones were absolute trash.
