African Workers Beaten Mercilessly By Their Chinese Bosses In Gabon
A video footage is currently trending online for obvious reason after some African men were beaten mercilessly by their Chinese bosses in Gabon. According to the post, the Chinese men attacked a young man and other African workers with sticks after a disagreement at their work site in the forest.
One of the workers was left seriously injured after he was beaten and hit on the head with sticks.
Many online users have revealed their displeasure with the act as they blamed African leaders for allowing the foreigners to have authority and power over an average citizen.
I would want to know the difference between the current crop of leaders and collaborators at the time of colonization because I don’t think there is any.
The problem is from the way we give out these contracts. We shouldnt give a chinese company a contract twice. The first time they can build but while training Kenyan professionals. The second time, they should be present in a supervisory capacity only. Eg approve the designs, monitor work on the ground, etc. That way their skills are transferred. They can stick as consultants on difficult phases.
That should be in the contract. Many companies can be found that will accept. Building roads, dams, railways is 18th century technology. Most 1st and 2nd world engineering companies can do it half drunk.
