Let’s be pragmatic.
The housing project is an ambitious objective that aims to eradicate slums… Of course this will not be achieved in a day.
Why not wait until completion before judging?
Why oppose a project that will get rid of slums and provide proper housing to Kenyans?
Why fear change, when change is inevitable?
If you hate Ruto too much and think you can do a better job, why not wait until 2027 and run for president yourself?

They don’t even do project assessment to know where all the wastes generated by such Highrise buildings will end up. Hakuna sewers, hakuna water supply ground floor let alone 10th floor huko juu. How come there no affordable houses being built in the slums like kibera, mathare, kondele etc? Instead wanabomoa Woodley and other estates to put up houses that will cost 8m? How will that get rid of slums and how are those houses affordable?

Those houses are very affordable in comparison to what is currently at the market. Nimetembea kuona zile za Ruiru, twice, can tell you for sure 4.5m is a very good deal for a fairly sized well planned 3 bedroom apartment. No wonder hizo 3 bedroom ziliisha haraka.

The houses should cost no more than 2.2m for a 3-bedroom flat.
Counties should take the responsibility of building houses, instead of the central government, and people should not be deducted even one penny for the house-building scheme. The House building scheme will pay for itself through rent.
The collective collection of the money from salary is a form of organised fraud.
It is unjustifiable to deduct money from individuals who have already taken a loan and completed building a house or from those paying off an existing home mortgage loan.

Are you special kind of stupid or something. How are they going to eradicate slums if the houses costs over 2m. People in slums are already struggling having 2 meals a day na rent ya 1500 bado ni shida. Even if those houses could have costed 500k, they still couldn’t afford. Like you’ve been told up there, slums we only end if there’s a direct will towards economic empowerment of the citizens by the ruling class

It would make more sense if the projects were left to county government. How much does it cost to build one unit anyway?
Kama ni 20k units, every county could be empowered to build like 500 units. At even a cost of 3m per unit they’d cost 1.5 billion per county and it can be spread over like 3 years coming to just 500m per county yearly. If they were truly trying to solve housing crisis that is. Not hii kamara ya town
