Aerial balloons

Hi guys
A couple of friends and I built the below contraption which is basically a HD camera, Gps locator, transmitor and some solar cells for charging. We want to attach it to 2 40litre helium heavy duty balloons and release it into the atmosphere see where it goes. Question is gava itatukujia claiming we’ve broken a shitload of laws etc I really want to see the images we can get.

Where is the contraption?

Yep. KCARS act. Pitia authority inaitagwo KCAA kwanza for aerial survey license

Ole wako if it goes to a military installation.

@Gio I have seen a similar thing done on you tube.
Off course there are laws that prevent you from doing such things thats why before the launch you will be expected to inform the civil aviation authority who will then refer you to DOD who will then refer you to CID NSIS the list is one endless loop no one will give you permission most likely because we dont have proper laws governing such issues.
Besides that you will waste money bribing officials.
My opinion is no one is watching so go to Turbi Marsabit launch your hellium ballon gather your data go home.

ndio hio

KCAA NEMA DOD CID NCIS KENYA POLICE COUNTY GOVT etc etc just to fly something?

Na ulipie. Just tafuta lift kwa helicopter armed Na Camera

will take your advice, was thinking somewhere near a waterbody so it just crashes in the water if anything goes wrong. We weren’t planning on getting it back though. 80l of helium would probably take it quite high up

KAA controls what people are permitted to do in every cubic inch of airspace above Kenyan soil,
anyone who wants to fly, manned or unmanned in the kenyan airspace needs some level of KAA approval. THIS I KNOW.

Say goodbye to your mc’agaries

Negative. Replace KAA with KCAA. And your comment will be 100% in the affirmative.

Yep. Anything that propels itself off the ground requires that you talk to all those bodies. Before Al Shabaab ilikuwa KCAA pekee.

Unaona hizi vidude za wa Hindi zenye huwa wanarusha Diwali ama new year…huwezi enda ununue hizo fireworks mtoi wako Aki celebrate birthday uende kwa balcony urushe kadhaa. Lazma u apply kwa hiyo Kcaa.

Fireworks licence unapata kwa Mines and Geology Department. Halafu unaenda kwa NEMA unapewa licence juu ya noise pollution…
