There was a time I was helping a friend shift houses. We were in the moving truck on Kagundo Road heading towards Njiru. Around Choka, the driver points to a gunia laying by the side of the road.
“That’s full of meat,” he said.
“What, the sack lying next to the road?”
“Workers at QMC slaughter house steal meat by cutting bits off and hiding the in their gumboots. Then they pack them in gunias and pretend it’s trash they are throwing away.”
Apparently, there were brokers who come and collect the sacks of meat and sell them all over Nairobi. I have walked on Kangundo Road from Njiru up to bypass. I have seen those sacks lying by the side of the road.
