One of the contributing factor is thuggery on that road. Sana sana usiku na early morning. One is forced to drive at at least 120 kph. Few thugs would dare stand in the way of a car moving that fast. Secondly, if they were to shoot at you while in motion, chances of hitting the fast moving target are greatly reduced unless if the thug is highly trained in firearm use.

How can one rob or hijack a motorist on such a road unless you mount road blocks. Simply standing in the middle of the road will get you killed even if you shoot the driver

however, using the bypasses at night past 9 PM is suicidal. better stick to the routes you used before the bypasses to get home

Everything about that bypass makes you want to drive on top speed, one time a friend told me ‘nataka tusome number plate ya ile lorry’ he hit 160, had to grip the belt.

Placing objects on the road to cause puncture to cars or still any kind of obstruction.

They use motorbikes. Usually two guys on one bike,the rider and the passenger who has the gun. You don’t want to meet those guys.

Shida si speed, ni ujinga. Someone indicates he wants to make a turn another fool can’t give way. One is overtaking and the fool will not slow to allow you overtake in time
