Tractor trailers brake mostly with the trailer axles. This looks like the result of a badly-gone-wrong jackknife (trying to avoid something), which means motion in a different direction. Slight difference which removes the egg from the driver’s face.
The tractor and trailer are both facing the same direction. Looks to me like it was speeding and stopped instantly… on hitting the shallow gully maybe?.. sending the trailer over the tractor.
