Also in that crowd are former intellectuals who have put aside their intellect after harassment from JaKuonist hardliners, opting instead to profit maximally from their political proximity and perceived loyalty to JaKuon. Orengo, Nyong’o, etc.

Then there are the outright goons like George Aladwa, Wandayi, Babu Owino and others who have tasted the molasses-sweet profits of JaKuonism. They fight and bully their way into the inner sanctum by sheer boorishness.

All these groups lie to the senile leader that he is ‘unbwoggable’ and on the verge of toppling his youthful political opponents as long as he dyes his hair jet black. They have all figured out how they can make serious money during the 5-yearly nominations circus, selling ODM certificates and promising to intercede and influence Baa baa!

It is testimony to Ababu’s naivety that he thought, after Kasarani and the MiB, that he could clean this nest of writhing maggots and make a genuine national political party out of it.
