A Tanzanian study: Lack of adequate food is making Kenyans look ugly

When a population faces chronic food insecurity—as nearly 16 to 20 million Kenyans currently do according to the 2025/2026 Global Hunger Index—the body begins to prioritize survival over “maintenance” functions. This leads to physical changes that can be quite striking.

Yes, luckily sirkal has introduced multiple ways to fight hunger in the country. Irrigation e.g. Kano plains rice fields are well regarded around the world for their ability to keep rice under Kshs 120/- per kg.

Kano plains rice irrigation is a white elephant . I find it ridiculous that despite having the optimal temperature and terrain unlike mwea which is COLD AF, Kano produces all of 7500 metric tons while mwea easily does 200 metric tons on a bad year.

It comes down to unadulterated laziness thievery and stupidity

But rice does stay cheap for regular wanjikus due to ‘supply and demand’ factors. Nobody needs to pay more than that in a mega inefficient country.

The important thing is that they arrive at the country’s airport. And that they bring back foreign capital with the empty crates.

This is why Kenyans look ugly.

Because they have more spending power?

Power without food is foolishness.

There’s plenty of food if we grow it properly. Some of it can be sold (cash crops) some of it can be eaten domestically (subsistence). But sisi ni nani.. corruption deadly kuanzia wakulima market hadi Gikomba.

Kenyans are masters of shouting loudly in the media. You were infected by the British but the truth is, Kenyans are lazy.

@255, why are there so many dirty, disabled Tanzanian beggars on the streets of Nairobi?

Well, you got most of that right.

Those are Kenyans, not Tanzanians. Everyone knows that

With a population of 58.6 million, are you unable to grow food crops to feed yourself? Stupid Kenyans.

And then you come and boast about exporting avocados from Tanzania!!!

Hunger is actually a political weapon in this country, with various stakeholders in the supply chain. It breaks your heart seeing some of these things on the television.
