A look at the good side of devolution

Despite devolution having come with its own challenges, we cannot deny that it has also borne some benefits. More so in parts that have been lagging behind on development. Through this efforts, there has been a trickle down effect to the grass root level.

Moreover, the National Government has also been keen in “opening up” part of the country that are considered to lack basic and much needed amenities with projects like LAPPSET.

Lets use this thread to show each other what’s happening in such area. Because lets face it;

The scene could be used in a good movie.

The National grid hapo ni Garissa, Mandera bado and its still a national government project. Then the Isiolo Moyale road, thats a national government project funded by AfDB and EU. So hapa labda ni that Agriculture scheme umetuonyesha ni sio kubwa hivyo

Cordiots/babuonists can’t agree to that. They once posted photo shopped pictures of leaning SGR pillars in a juvenile effort to throw mud at the project.

basi eka even the national government project in your county.

Almost all of them are national government projects

Nepotism and corruption. As much as devolution looks good on paper it has been abused. The structure and composition has been infected by corruption and politics

Ujinga ya Wakenya is breath-taking.

There are prolly just one or two counties that have utilized their money well. When you consider what the Uhuru gava has devolved you can get shocked - over one trillion shilings TRILLION. MCAs just use the money to travel and build palaces, and when they are asked what they have done with the money they point at national gava programmes. VIRTUALLY ALL THE ABOVE ARE NATIONAL GAVA PROGRAMMES EXCEPT PROLLY THE SMALL MANDERA IRRIGATION PROJECT.

Devolution is one of the worst mistakes Katiba ever made. There could have been better ways to deal with marginalisation, but isorait, isokei.

Wacha tuendelee kulipa 50 Excellencies, their wives and mistresses etc bila kusumbua…

ujinga ya wakenya is just buying only the sad stories on devolution peddled by the media, devolution has challenges but its working, for the first time ever, we have a road in my village, our local health facility is well stocked, an ambulance is a call away, I don’t have to worry paying nhif for my parents because my county is already taking care of it… so many good things happening!
