Hello K-talkers, since Nairobians and almost town dwellers in other parts of the country prefer bottled water, I am planning to start treating and packaging drinking water.
My question here is, where do I get that machine for wrapping that seal around the bottle cap and where do I print the labels?
I assume you have already done your market research and you have already established that it is a viable idea, if you have not stop right there.
If you have done so, packing should be the least of your problem.
key word-START SMALL BUT THINK BIG
Go to GP (general plastic), enterprise road and choose a bottle shape of your choice, they also have those seals.
then enda downtown to those printing guys, they also know the graphics guys. take a label of any drinking water and tell them do design and print something close to that, (you can give them an idea of how you want it done).
buy 2or3 cooking coils, the cheap ones. after filling your water, bottle it and place the security seal, the. pitisha juu ya hizo hot coils and there you have your bottled sealed water. weka label.when the business starts to pick then you can start thinking of expanding i.e buying those filling, sealing machines. ukifika hapo, look for me and I will source those machines from China for you.
for now all you need is the product(water),small room with power and labour. lakini kama uko na order kubwa or big supply tender, then forget about all I typed and go all in,ama aje @Okiya.
congratulations by the way for going the business way, it’s not easy but its very rewarding and fulfilling.
I don’t want to corrupt @Chloe but all these regulations can come after starting the business. All those institutions are run by people who are more than willing to “help”. So my advice for anybody starting a business in kenya, start first and all the other details will take care of themselves once money start rolling in
Well,This reminds me of 2005 when i wanted to set the same.
The market was still a ripe but the costs involved became out of reach i became so frustrated.
well if i was you i wouldnt concentrate nairobi.
Do you have an idea the water thats consumed in garissa, wajir,Mandera plus all the plastic waste thats in those ends?
Think about it.
Some years back i was heading to juba and i was in awe when i saw plastics filled every where after some time guys had taken over the collecting that waste for sale.
Let me know if you need anything so that my knowledge will benefit you too.
