55m for the NEW Range Rover Vogue

Inchcape Kenya quotation for the all new RR Vogue Autobiography 3litre Diesel; $430,000. And this is just the standard wheelbase. The price of the long wheelbase version is something else. How much would you have to be worth before buying this machine, fellow KTalk Mbirrionaires?

Acha ningoje guru of all things @Azor Ahai

55m for a car? Alafu uongeze 7.5% insurance each year i.e 4.13m?

55m jenga flat that will be giving you 400k per month = 4.8m.
Ama wekelea treasury bills at 10% pa = 5.5m per year (about 460k per month)

Hizo VAT ni za upuzi bana.

Peasant proverbs. By the time mtu anaamua kuspend 10s of millions on a luxury, ameinvest kutosha. Maybe he/she already has 2 billion in cash flowing properties/assets so logic yako makes zero sense.

I would never buy a Range Rover from Inchcape even if I had the means. Why not import one directly from the UK??? It’s probably still cheaper after tax.

Luxury goods e.g. high end cars, jets, beachfront villas etc have value because they are scarce. They separate the sh#tmunchers from the elite and are status symbols. Whether you like it or not, we live in a hierarchical society.

That Range Rover is special because 50 million peasants (including myself) want it but can’t have it.

See

I agree on the first point. Many forget that such buyers have already invested heavily. Regarding ex-UK cars, I would NEVER import a used high end UK diesel vehicle as it comes with zero warranty and it’s not tropicalized, so mashida za dpf, egr etc ni mob. The only good Range Rover is a new one, not mtush. Once it hits 100,000kms and the warranty is about to end, trade it in, and get a new one.

Range Rovers are manufactured in the UK. You import a brand new one not a used one. Hapo pa warranty sijui but maybe they have an arrangement with local dealers after you import from them. Unaweza pata umeimport cheaply directly from UK brand new, wakupee warranty and you get the services from their licensed local dealer.

What really amazes me is the confidence with which you type this from your 10’*10’ hovel in paipu.

Some birrionaires earn annual salary of around 800m so spending 55m is peanuts

Nani amskuambia hawana?

Cars manufactured for the European market have some differences with the cars we get, esp diesels. Due to emissions regulations, zao ziko Euro 6, zetu ni Euro 4, meaning those meant for the African market can take in our not so clean diesel bila tafash. Importing a brand new unit ain’t cheap either, taxes are still very high.

Hizo ma euro what wanatumia kutu fleece na bei SHAIT

Hesabu ya umaskini ndio maana we keep saying degree muhimu sana.

You think someone anaenda kununua gari ya 55 million ako na hio peke yake ?

I know a CEO who imported a brand new Range from SA and saved kitu 6 million way back in 2017.
Degree muhimu sana

Most high end vehicles are registered as business vehicles ndio you play around na tax during “tax reconciliation”

Madness. That amount is probably higher than the most expensive Range Rover model in the Yues

Wrong dude. Read your basic economics first. The rules of demand and supply does not apply to specialty or luxury items.

Who talked about supply?? Do you even know the difference between demand and desire?? Don’t lecture me about rules you don’t understand.

"because they are scarce " your words
