This 4G LTE Modem are always on 3G!!!
what is new here?

Here are things you need to understand about these gsm technologies:
3G+ uses the High Speed Downlink Packet Access(HSPDA) while 4G uses HSDPA+(plus others) and most of this 4g usb modems support both the 3G and 4G networks.
So it depends on how far you are from the cell towers, is you are too far you will be limitted to 3G speend if you are close to the cell towers you will be able to access 4G speeds. Most of the time it doesn’t show up on your modem network icon but you will notice a significant change in download speeds.
NB: These gsm signals work on a 2.4GHz bandwith which is shared by a lot of electronics(wifi, bluetooth etc) which may affect your modem signal strenght.

Note on 4G LTE Modem:
I have had a 4G lte modem for 2 weeks. It has never connected to 4G LTE NETWORK. The first week the problem was not as serious.
The modem now only works after sometime, it automatically disconnects: Once it reaches 10MB received (see attachement).
I have to disconnect then connect again. When I try upgrading the device software, I foind out the modem is best used with Windows XP - 8 (not 10!).
The WiFi is hopeless! To use the WiFi I have to be atleast 2 meters from the device, otherwise it is to far. I thought the problem was the power from the PC USB was too little, so transferred to charginf device. Still has the same problem!
Which network are you on?

You need to understand the difference between 3g, hspa+, LTE, and 4G (fyi, many people confuse lte with 4G, they aren’t the same).
No, LTE works on frequencies between 700MHz to 2.5GHz. italingana na which carrier anatumia
here is the distinguishing features slightly different but related

[COLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)]Is LTE the same as 4g?
LTE, sometimes known as 4G LTE, is a type of 4G technology. Short for “Long Term Evolution”, it’s slower than “true” 4G, but significantly faster than 3G, which originally had data rates measured in kilobits per second, rather than megabits per second

Mbona umeni quote? Ama wataka ni explain? :D:D. In Kenya currently only Safaricom (and Faiba*) have 4G (or should I say “true 4G?”)
*Faiba has launched LTE-A (4G+) at the CBD, but hawajasema officially.
What people call 4G+ is the true 4G.
Trust me, you are using a very old manual, HSPA+ IS NOT 4G. Hizo ni zile enzi people were trying to claim they have 4G while in real sense according to 3gpp standards it was 3G. Just like AT&T tried to lie to Americans that their advanced 4G+ (using 256 QAM and 3-way carrier aggregation) is 5G
Airtel or Telkom.
Even when I use Safaricon it still stops working after a few minutes. Thought the modem was overheating, but does not feel warm.
